"Looser men and cheap rich girls with artificial expressions and revealing outfits..."

They say that every movie should be freely interpreted by the viewer. Here is a bizarre example of such.

FROM IMDB...
Aranya Din-Ratri (the days & nights spent in remote forest area) Story of 4 bengali males shown beautifully by Director Mr. Satyajit Ray ! 4 friends take a break – 3 of them are average looking & tall and one is short and below average to look at. They do not make proper arrangements – just barge into a Goernment Guest House and bribe the caretaker to let them in by giving him some money. The poor care taker has an ailing wife so since he could not go out to buy stuff for them, the porter boy agrees to buy & carry food stuff for them.

A typical life style of average common men (looser men rather) is shown here – how they just crib about having to butter the boss and please him by attending late night parties, boozing and spending time with cheap rich girls with artificial expressions and revealing outfits.

One the friends was ditched lately by an educated girl (played by Aparna Sen) – who was fashion conscious (wore wigs to look more seducing) as well as very intelligent & observant who had the sense to smell tricky / foolish people from a distance. She had written a 5 paged letter to her boyfriend who in return could barely write half a page – showing that he was not very sound as far as 'literacy in romanticism' was concerned. This the girl understood and washed her hands off the idiot ! (very well done I would say) – the fact that her decision was absolutely right is seen later as the movie proceeds … when the same fellow indulges in intercourse with a 'dirty, smelly, ugly looking maid servant category, drunkard woman he meets in the forest remote area !!He does IT with her on open ground in the forest on the thorny weeds !! – so utterly frustrated and sex starved - just anyone would do for such men – therefore his girlfriend definitely made the right decision to ditch him.A looser man in all respect.

Second fellow was a bit intellectual and adventurous , well read – in the game of "remembering names' he said Shakespeare and Sharmila Tagore – a lady he meets there, says Cleopatra – in fact each one took the name of the historical/ literary figure he / she either hero worships/identifies – or admires in one way or the other. He meets this quiet & attractive lady and gets drawn towards her – she had a traumatic childhood – the reason of her quietitude – Mother had died of fire in front of her and elder brother had committed suicide !Another looser who knows it all but cannot do anything about it.

Third fellow was decent – playing it safe kinds – the widowed sister-in-law of sharmila tries to seduce him (missing her husband I guess) – had said Rabindranath Tagore in the game of 'Remembering names' by the way. A decent man who could change if he wanted to – looser or winner depended on him.

Fourth fellow – happy go lucky – the fact that he was ugly & short was taken very lightly by him – had no attitude problems – couldn't have any in fact – compensating on his below average looks – so he turned comical and made things appear funny. A very common Bengali man category since the average height of Bengali men is around 5'5" and also Bengali men are dark and not very good looking – so they make fun of everything and anything and spend time making merry – with or without any reason.

The same now takes on "Joe's Apartment"

Joe's Apartment is equal to India's Kolkata

Cockroaches with individual names and identities – Ralph, Alpha, Rodney Roaches & others …… occupying Joe's apartment – and Joe was happily co-existing with them – was rather friendly with them – gave them incentives like doughnuts etc. to keep them happy and was basically non-interfering in their personal affairs. Their (Cock-roaches & Chick-roaches) personal affairs included : Water balled (they used the commode water for the balled – the Kolkatans definitely use a better quality water for water sports and dance drama ), watch Television showing them their choicest best teleserials which obviously includes – food recipes , love making tips and tricks, Seduction tips for female roaches , how to trap a female / male in seven days (saath din ladki in), consequences of laying eggs without proper marriage registration in front of other administrative Roaches, the miserable life cycle of a single lady roach amongst lusty cock roaches…etc.

Joe was non-affected about all this until he met his lady Love…and he brings her home one day….The roaches all fall on her bosom and she runs away from him leaving him all alone in his vast world with roaches as his comrades !

Joe decides to do away with all his companions once and for all – and brings a poison spray for them. As a defense mechanism, the roaches try to kill Joe but failed as a 3rd party entered and tried to finish them all(Roaches & Joe) together. Its only the fear of a 3rd party which made the roaches realize that if they help Joe , they will help themselves. So together , as a team, they fulfil both Joe's and his girl friend's(Lily) dream by making a beautiful garden out of the smelly garbage dump yard .

Alls well that ends well. Shows that even drain insects come handy – basically if , and only if – there is team work and aim is for a positive result.

Lesson learnt : The roaches are the common average mass who have all the power in them to bring about the beautification of his own surroundings and make heaven out of hell !

Kolkata's answer to Roger Ebert now reviews "Mohabbatein"

"Story Line : Very sorry !..

In the picture above - the group picture with a girl ...hey - tie your safety belts - She is a ghost - oh! no - not a gory ghost - a friendly ghost - like Casper..floating lovingly around in the premises where she died - without culminating love into Marriagehood- she wanted to marry the guy seen above who is playing the guitaar - Indian girls go crazy when they see a guy with a musical instrument actually - it reminds them of Lord Krishan actually..so the entire blame of unchastity, two-timing, illicit relationships which married women are having with unemployed men seen around in Bengal alleys ...and under lamp-posts...are all done in the name of Lord Krishna !!

In this movie a father of a motherless daughter (seen in Picture) who is also a Principal of a Boys college - Gurukul - is very strict in his Principles ! His daughter is very dear to him but he expects strict discipline from her. But as destiny would have it..this girl falls in love with a boy belonging to the Boy's College. This ,was a shocking news for the father and he could not tolerate that his daughter has fallen in love with one of his students !!He rusticates...throws out the male student of his college without even looking at her daughter's choice - as he could not bear to see the face of the devil - thereby ruining his entire career !! Imagine what a dangerous thing this love is ! Ruining you for the entire Life !!

Not being able to bear separation from Lover Romeo, Juliet a.k.a the daughter (seen garlanded in this picture) commits suicide writing thusly: Father I cannot do without him - I know you will be sad but I am sadder - stay with your principles - but I hereby bid you goodbye !!

Father ages gradually and after soem 6-7 years a male Music Teacher joins his college - he is the same Lover (of his daughter but the old man fails to recognise as he had not even seen him !!)..came to take revenge...and promised to make this Gurukul a Lover's paradise...he finds romantically inclined male students and instigates them to fall in love with neighbouring college semi-nude girls or a widow ..or even a girl who is already having a boyfriend...basically he wanted to take revenge from the old man and made use of romantically inclined idiots.

There is a lot of use of Special Effects - the Chinar leaves which floats on and off the entire movie during scene change .Good for my students in Arena Multimedia ! The last scene of the movie is rather shocking !! The Old man agrees that it was all his fault after all and he should better allow the semi-nude girls of the neighbouring college to come with their Mistress Helen and dance, booze, party in Gurukul !

Well if my son had been admitted there, I would surely have taken him out of that College as I could not have tolerated a semi nude lady as my daughter-in-law !!"

And this one to topit all...she reviews "Main Hoon Na"

Then what am I doing !? I am here – hero says it to all – the Love counselor ! A man ? – how can men ever be a love counselor – those who are more famous for creating ruckus and general unrest in the nation – egoistic and selfish…anyways not their fault – its what his mother went through during - pre, while and post pregnancy – sons just represent the bitterness of their respective mothers…and fathers.

If parents are bitter, fighting & contradictory in nature – children more or less become like them…very few change for better or for worst due to circumstances, peer pressure or some accident – like Khalil Gibran had a – strong willed , not giving up easily mother (Kamilla) but a fraud, cheat father who was jailed (framed falsely or otherwise I do not know) – but she went on and on and on – son saw it all , felt it all, imbibed it all – imbibed a lot from Mother nature – and became a precious Pearl ! Anyways scenes from Hindi film something taken – Jhalli(uncouth) girl (daughter of Army officer Kabir Bedi) very tom boyish as father always wanted a son so the daughter tried to please father by becoming and behaving like a boy ..but when she grows up, she falls in love with an uncouth boy(long hair, flunky life style) – now what? Army officer , Major. Hero acts like a college boy who was deputed to protect Kabir Bedi's daughter as she was to become an "endangered species" – some terrorists had threatened him that they will get his daughter. In the meanwhile it is shown that Kabir Bedi , being an Army Oficer is so busy with looking after the nation that he has no time for family and there is a major communication gap between father and daughter ! God knows how they get such ideas about Life of Army families !! Hang on – there is yet another locha case in here – the flunky fella , the uncouth army officer's daughter is in love with is the step brother of Major Shah Rukh !! for 20 years, mother and flunky son were lamenting father's absence from their life – whereas father was living happily ever after with shah rukh's mother and son shah rukh – he had died actually and son shah rukh had come to celebrate the last rites with step mother and son – actually I have missed the first scene – saw it from the scene where he is seen singing and dancing with young college boys and girls –who are you waiting for ? - song.

hero asks heroine to make the uncouth girl as feminine and oomph filled and as coquettish as she is . She agrees – and the uncouth girls straightens her hair , wears a Indian attire – hang on – a ladies shirt with thread knots showing the waxed back ! uncouth boy sees it and falls in love with immediate effect.

In the mean time uncouth guy's mother's birthday arrives and so shah rukh suggests that he should cut his hair…mother drops the "puja ki plate " (this is where I went mad – no one drops plate after worshipping Me …just joking ) and mother and son are both very happy.

In comes a physics professor – a male with a pony tail !..who is actually the terrorist – but knew wave motion, light rays, vernier calipers, vector and scalar scale measurement…etc which a physics professor teaches – amazing things this education has taught us I tell you! Look at me for example ! how am I utilizing my education have you ever wondered dear readers ? by being an Alkaline Critic ..unlike the acid critics who you see often! - Then there is a prom festival where they sing "white-6 boys-6…" a song where men are requesting women to be a one-man woman !how times have changed ! good.

In this song, Ms. Universe, Susmita sen, is wearing a red chiffon drape and the pallu is taken in a very advantageous way.. from the men's point of view – see the movie yourself and enjoy.

This review of Aa Ab Laut Chalein - an imminently forgettable movie - turns philisophical!

The story line goes thusly :

Abroad ! the term itself has a kind of honey-money reminding effect! Indian men are ready to wash dishes and be a waiter, drive cabs, sweep the Airport premises to keep it clean …all this just to be in a foreign land as they get paid in dollars - which when converted to Indian currency makes him a rich and sought after groom in India.

Indian parents , of daughters especially, forget everything else when they see that a man is having a bank balance good enough to support their daughter for the rest of her life ! This happens probably in the following circumstances : 1. parents are illiterate and do not believe/ understand / know that literacy can help. So they never educated their daughter as its an age old adage that a woman is but a machine to continue with the progeny of whichever family she weds – be it Pandavs or Kauravs ! 2. Both parents along with children are foreign crazy….some habits die hard – or maybe genetically transmitted . Have you noticed dear Indians…. whenever there is a movie showing struggle for independence, it is usually shown that one or two British officers are commanding and giving orders to their servants- the Indian subordinates – working as soldiers – and in fact they are the ones – Indians ie, who used to charge the freedom fighters (FF) with laathis and even gunned them down.now please do not give me examples of 2-3 such soldiers out of 500-1000 soldiers working as spies to the FF – I am talking about majority – Might is right …? Is'nt it? – here I would in fact like to appreciate the British officers to train the otherwise sluggish Indians and made them work…for them of course ! what motivation they must have had ..by the virtue of which they counseled their Indian soldiers (ie. working under their wing) – to kill the Indian FF.

3. Now dear Indian they must have also got married….what does one do after marriage – but of course ! no points for that….they give birth to a baby !- the reason why people get married in the first place ! – to make a woman complete! – she ..it seems is incomplete without the experience of a baby crying at midnight for milk or nappy change …- anyways suffice to say that even their generation has grown – and probably they are the ones who indulge in all the things which cause general ruckus and unrest in the country – like – boozing, mid-night partying, womanizing – collecting wine, wealth and woman in their database – not bothering about anything else – just following the drain culture and copying the foreigners in every possible way….as taught to them by their forefathers ! Select few might not be so..the ones who used to be spies to the FF… 4. Continuing with the circumstances which cause the Indian parents wed their daughters with foreign based men …..in spite of several told and untold miseries such marriages bring about ! – Basically lack of knowledge and education and also probably lots of greed for money – which can buy one new expensive dresses and jewelry …another set of necessities required to make a woman complete…or look good enough in order to turn on the husband who will eventually part with his secretions (refer movie "Look who is talking too" title sequence - where the fertilization is shown in 3-d animation …made the sperms look like devils …traveling through the fallopian tube & later only one succeed in invading the wall of the ovum ) and give the greatest opportunity to a Woman – motherhood !..to be later kicked by them,as shown in Bagbaan… Anyways story of Aa ab laut chalen – So the hero wants to make quick easy money – gets hooked on to a rich girl – who has shown a lot of her skin , cleavage etc.- who boozes and drinks – dances with other boys and treat him as dirt – but greed keeps him clinging to her.

In the meanwhile Aishwarya (heroine) also lands up in foreign – she had also come to try her luck in marriage – the only vital reason of human birth, meets him and falls in love with him ! He turns her down as is has a better deal in hand – a rich, well endowed, beautiful , seductress looking woman for whom all men yearn ! Ash, in order to win his heart tries to look voluptuous and seductress by wearing skimpy outfits as suggested to her by Indian cab drivers, and others of their category, but it does not work ...she sings thusly: dear dear turn around your sight – your heart is here – where else are you looking ! …its night there – its only here (with me) that's broad daylight) Heart broken she joins as a nurse to a multi billionaire who is Akshaya's (hero's) actual father actually – had humped his mother and later had settled down in foreign and was living happily ever after with wife and child. His mother , who was a pure, chaste, innocent & religious Indian woman kept the child – which she had conceived out of wedlock ( a momentary lapse had made her forget totally about chastity, purity, innocence and religion btw.).
